High impact polystyrene (HIPS)

HIPS is a versatile plastic material, economical and resistant to impact, which is easy to process and fabricate. It is often specified for structural applications with low resistance when the qualities enumerated above are necessary, and it is used frequently in the processing of prototypes for pre-production because it has excellent dimensional stability and it is easy to fabricate, paint, and glue together. HIPS’s usual uses are toys, TV and audio components, fuel tanks and computer cases. It is very well used in combination with GPPS.
